MILCK Releases ‘Quiet’, an Acoustic Version of Viral Smash – Video

– MILCK Can’t and Won’t Keep ‘Quiet’ on Acoustic Version of Viral Smash

MILCK Releases 'Quiet', an Acoustic Version of Viral SmashLos Angeles-based singer MILCK is baring it all in a passionate, stripped-down version of her viral hit “Quiet” that first grabbed the public consciousness following a flash mob performance at the Women’s March on Washington in January and subsequent appearance on Full Frontal with Samantha Bee.

The latest iteration finds MILCK (neé Connie Lim) in her utmost comfort zone, as the classically-trained pianist is joined for an acoustic duet with longtime collaborator Rod Castro on guitar. While alternative versions have boasted an anthemic flare, this personal piece offers an intimate look at the raw power of Lim’s craft.

“‘Quiet’ symbolizes me shedding my skin,” Lim tells Billboard in an interview. “This song helped me shed myself from my old life that cycled around self-blame, shame, self-doubt, and the external forms of oppression that come with bigotry and traditional patriarchy.”

The stripped-down version is available on Billboard before the produced version makes its television debut on the season finale of The Bold Type on Freeform, airing on Sept. 5 at 9pm E.T. Check out the exclusive acoustic take below.
