Tems is about to make global history.
Nigerian singer, songwriter and record producer Temilade Openiyi, Tems, will headline FIFA’s first-ever halftime show at the FIFA Club World Cup Final on July 13, 2025, at MetLife Stadium in New York.
She’ll share the stage with Colombian reggaeton star J Balvin and American pop icon Doja Cat, marking a cultural milestone for the global tournament—and for Nigerian music.
This is the first time FIFA has included a halftime performance in any of its competitions, and Tems leading the charge makes the moment even more significant. It reflects how far Afrobeats and Nigerian artists have come on the world stage.
“We’re going to bring the world together for a beautiful moment—to celebrate football, feel the unity that music brings, and improve the lives of millions of children through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. I can’t wait – see you at the FIFA Club World Cup final!” – Tems
The performance is part of a Global Citizen and FIFA campaign supporting education across over 200 countries. A portion of every ticket sold will go toward the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, underlining a commitment to both entertainment and impact.
“From Medellín to MetLife—I’m honoured to headline the first-ever halftime show of the FIFA Club World Cup final. It’s a historic moment—for me, for Latin culture, and for every kid who dreams big.” – J Balvin
The show will be available for free streaming worldwide on DAZN.com, giving millions of fans the chance to witness the historic set live.
Tems has continued to rise globally with a Grammy win, an Oscar-nominated feature, and collaborations with artists like Beyoncé, Future, and Drake. This halftime show adds another monumental moment to her journey.
For Nigerian music, it’s not just a win—it’s a statement of presence, power, and global resonance.
The show will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative announced by FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Global Citizen Co-Founder and CEO Hugh Evans at the Global Citizen NOW Summit in April, which aims to raise USD 100 million to provide children around the world with access to quality education and football. One dollar from every ticket sold for FIFA Club World Cup™ matches in the United States this summer will be donated to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.
