Sauti Sol Ignites East Africa’s Best Tradition With Midnight Train Album

SAUTI SOL Midnight Train Multi awarded Kenyan afro-pop band Sauti Sol, returns with their fifth studio album titled ‘Midnight Train’.

The album was released on Friday June 5th, 2020 courtesy of Universal Music Africa for the band with vocalists Bien-Aimé Baraza, Willis Chimano, Savara Mudigi and guitarist Polycarp Otieno.

The 13 track album takes listeners through another journey of life where embracing the trials and tribulations that come with it is the only option for survival.

The title track ‘Midnight Train’ was produced by Andre Harris who has also worked with Global superstars like Justin Bieber, Kanye West and Jill Scott. The song represents of their until-the-bones-are rotten attitude. The song speaks about their hustle and the effort they have put into their career so far.

Off the much anticipated album, Sauti Sol offered 4 singles ahead of the album’s release and the songs has so far dealt with the reasons the album could be chart-topping in the coming weeks.

The release of the rhythmic love jam “Suzanna” set the stage while “Disco Matanga” featuring Sho Madjozi and Black Motion enticed fans as the lead song from Netflix’s Queen Sono.

The uplifting track “Brighter Days,” featuring the Soweto Gospel Choir, gave hope to those who have lost any to the deadly covid19 pandemic.

The group’s recent release “Insecure” explores the fear and insecurity that lies deep within oneself.

Singing in Swahili, Luhya, Luo and English, Sauti Sol is using their incredible storytelling signature to communicate East Africa’s best tradition that permeates music.
