Young Rob out with “Sankofa” EP

Promising London based Ghanaian versatile artist, Young Rob has finally released his much-awaited ”Sankofa” EP. ”Sankofa”, a word in the Twi dialect translates as ”To go back and get it” (san- to return, ko-to go, fa- to fetch, to seek and take).

”Sankofa” is a feel-good Afrobeat EP with great production and worldwide collaboration with some of the finest producers and artists. The six-track EP features French RnB artist, Nabo who featured on Rob’s well-received single ‘Ghana Baby’ and boats of productions Analytical Alz from Uganda, Mictizzle from the UK, Mike Millz and Streetbeatz both from Ghana.

The EP is also executed among simple yet memorable production in elements of English, Ewe, Ga, and Twi lyrics. ”Sankofa” EP has songs such as ‘Ghana Baby’, ‘Akwele’, ‘Slow Whine’ and ‘Gucci Heels’, among others.

Born Robert Dosoo, Young Rob was born in Accra but moved to the UK after completing secondary school. At a young age, hanging out with older peers, Rob got introduced to west coast Hip-Hop and that was when he developed an interest in music. He grew up listening to a lot of 2Pac, The Hot Boyz, and The Lost Boyz just to name a few. Music has always been an inspiration for Rob. His music career began when he was introduced to a London based producer named, Ren the Producer. Ren played a pivotal role in getting Young Rob’s career started.

Soon after, Young Rob released his first mixtape titled ”Versatility”. After releasing the tape, Rob started making a name for himself by performing, networking and gradually building a fan base. In 2013, he released his second project titled ”Still @ It”. In 2015, whiles working on his debut EP, Rob released his first Afrobeat song ‘Ghana Baby’, featuring French RnB artist, Nabo with accompanying visuals shot in Ghana, France, and the UK. In 2017, Rob released his debut EP titled ”Elevation”.

Young Rob’s has a flair for creating catchy hooks, that demands the listener’s attention to his sounds. Consisting of good music and good vibes ”Sankofa” is definitely an EP for all.
