“Already” which was dropped a few hours to official premiere of the Beyoncé produced film Black Is King is yet another breadcrumb for us to eat on the long road to the release of the much anticipated visual album set to hit Disney+ at midnight PST on Friday, July 31.
The song features Shatta Wale and Major Lazer and features dialogue from last year’s “The Lion King” photorealistic remake at the beginning of the video.
Coinciding with the new music video, the deluxe version of “The Lion King: The Gift” was also released on streaming services at the same time on Thursday night. The new album includes the single “Black Parade,” an extended version of it and a remix of “Find Your Way Back” featuring Melo-X. The deluxe edition also removes the multiple interludes featuring dialogue from “The Lion King.”
“Already” music video is an unapologetic celebration of African culture, from Beyoncé’s wardrobe, to her choreo, to the afro-beats that infuse the song. If this is any indication of what the full visual album has in store, it’s going to be African-inspired bop after African-inspired bop. Watch the official video below.
